The best antivirus for your PC is one that is already installed as standard on Windows

As technology spreads throughout society, it is increasingly dangerous not to have a good antivirus system. Most people already have a computer at home, but what is the best way to be protected against an attack?

Currently, there is a wide range of antivirus programs that keep our devices safe, which many of us depend on to work and, even, to check bank data. It is easy to get lost among that list of antivirus, but if we check which one’s are the best, the search is easier.

Microsoft has been the winner in the study conducted by Softpedia, the independent IT security institute AV-TEST. The Windows Defender antivirus has achieved the number one position as the safest program we can find on a home computer.

Microsoft has been a complicated year with all the problems that Windows 10 has given and its updates, but it seems that little by little they are being solved and offering a better service, especially with Windows Defender.

For this study, Softpedia has analyzed more than 20 security products from various companies for two months to develop this ranking whose result has given Windows Defender as a winner, followed by another antivirus.

Behind the Microsoft program, are F-Secure SAFE 17, Kaspersky Internet Security 19.0 and Norton Security 22.17. Three programs of three renowned brands in the world of security.

However, the main difference is that these three cybersecurity programs require a monthly subscription in order to have our computer protected, while Windows Defender comes by default and free of charge with Windows 10. That is, it is available for all computers that upgrade to this latest version of the Microsoft operating system.

This is a change of course within the security industry, companies that live to sell these antiviruses should strive to overcome the qualities of Windows Defender if they want to continue selling their products to all devices that use Microsoft.
